Recently my class and I have been exploring the capabilities of Adobe Spark. While it can be used for any subject we’ve been thoroughly impressed with the possibilities for teaching second languages. We examined various French cultures throughout the world and students were able to create virtual slide shows which include their own voice recordings.
Here is a link to a completed presentation:
Sample Adobe Spark Presentation (French)
Don’t take my word on it. Here is what the students said about the assignment:
- “I liked that we could use technology in French class”
- “We learned about other cultures because we could watch one another’s videos”
- “The best part is we didn’t have to speak in front of anyone but we could get our oral grades”
- “One of the most fun projects I’ve ever done”
- “My family couldn’t believe I made this”
These are just a few examples of what was said. Some of the benefits also include that links can be made publicly which can be turned into Google Classroom. Students do not have to register because they can simply login with their Google accounts.
