Geometry: Google My Maps Angle Activity

Geometry My Maps

If anyone is looking for a cross curricular math activity that requires true understanding of angle relationships I would highly recommend this one.  For this activity students are asked to use “Google My Maps” and find several different angle relationships throughout the world.  They were asked to complete at least one per continent.  Afterwards they had to measure and find the quantitative value for the given angles. They then took a screen shot of their work and attached it within the hyperdoc.  Students used parallel lines with one transversal (the roads) and find patterns (C, F, & Z).  I’ve taken the liberty of attaching the document but keep in mind this was scaffolded for my classroom and you can edit this to work for you.

Here is an example of the work students completed.
